Announcing a new Meetup for Classic Literature and Cocktails!
What: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
When: February 11,[masked]:00 PM
Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)
Meetup Description: I'm pretty sure I told Bob at the last meet-up that I wouldn't be caught dead reading this girly book, but then I realized I had a copy of it in my apartment and started reading it anyway. It is fun and charming and has dead chicks, ghosts, cranky old guys and shitty weather - what more do you need? I'm making myself read it while I'm sequestered at my parent's house for the holidays. I hope some people are brave enough to join me on this endeavor! It was written in 1847 so this isn't exactly like reading a comic book, Michael.
Unlike some meet-ups, I don't charge a fee, I'm happy if I can get people to show up and give me $1 or if someone buys me a drink. But if you repeatedly flake on me at the 11th hour or don't show up when you say you will, I'm giving you the boot. That's right - you may be kicked off the classic literature island, so please behave your collective selves.
I'm still thinking about the location for this one but will come up with something in the next few weeks that will be in SF and easily accessible by public transport. Ideas are always welcome.
