This month's selection is the 1979 comedic sci-fi classic, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Plot summary (from Amazon): Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out-of-work actor. Together this dynamic pair begin a journey through space aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide and a galaxy full of fellow travelers.
Our location: We meet at Mad River Grille & Pub, a place that serves food and drink. We will try to get the super big table which is directly across from the front door. Mad River is near the Wellington Brown Line stop. Street parking is do-able, but may be a bit difficult.
Future book selection ideas are welcome. Criteria for books: has a science fiction theme, is 10+ years old, and under 500 pages (for us busy, slower readers).
Please be respectful of the group and your humble organizer by keeping RSVPs up-to-date. No-shows are no fun, so please don't be one, if you can help it. Two no-shows will have you removed from the group.
