Welcome to Casa Feliz, the beautifully restored Spanish Farmhouse designed by acclaimed architect James Gamble Rogers II. Overlooking the golf course in the heart of Winter Park, Casa Feliz is the ideal setting.

The rich textures of original Spanish roof tiles and whitewashed century-old bricks... a turret, a bell tower, and a heavy timber balcony detailed in colors of the Mediterranean... lush landscaping--courtyards and sweeping oaks, and native plants contained by ancient clay amphoras provide an intriguing backdrop for MUsic at The Casa.

Enter inside to discover interiors skillfully refurbished to their original splendor. The rich details of the house--the living room's vaulted ceiling of massive hand-hewn beams; the heavily carved European antiques accenting each room; a Majolica-tiled interior courtyard and fountain; arched doorways and a circular staircase--combine for a setting at once comforting and breathtaking.

James Gamble Rogers II [masked]) was one of the defining architects of Winter Park, helping to lend the community its distinctive character. Born in Winnetka, Illinois and educated at Dartmouth College, Rogers trained at his father's Daytona Beach architectural firm until 1928, when he opened a practice in Winter Park.Over the next sixty years, his name would become synonymous with traditional residential architecture in the growing community. His style flowed effortlessly from French Provincial to Spanish Colonial.

So sorry! I just remembered to check my calendar better, and I do have to stay in Maitland for an event at 3:00 pm. It's an ordination for a young lady at Maitland Pres, where I'm in the choir and we're singing a tricky piece of music. We'll have to run over it about 2:15 or so, so I'll miss the Luis Alfredo Garcia concert after all. Drat! See you on the 29th though.

Brian Hayes was really superb, and he said he's known Luis for a good while, so I kind of expect Luis to be really great too! Count me in!
