  • May 21, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Our group, open to music lovers and the general public, meets at 1 pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the University Club of Winter Park, corner of Webster and Park Ave. Meetup Members gather at 12:30 at our 'table.' After enjoying conversation, wine, coffee, and hor d'oeuvres, relax for an informative and enjoyable music presentation with live performances featuring world-class musicians.

  Enjoy Lakeside Chamber Players Program
With Classical & Light Music Classics

Join us at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 21 for a concert featuring the Lakeside Chamber Players (LCP)  at the University Club of Winter Park, performing a delightful mix of classical music and familiar melodies. LCP is a non-profit ensemble of professional Central Florida musicians that performs local concerts and generational education programs.

Their program will feature Janet Harris on bassoon; Jennifer Royals, clarinet; and Charles McGhee, oboe, performing works of Mozart, Gounod, Piazzola, and Milhaud--as well as Liberty Bell by John Philip Sousa, Antonio Jobim's Girl from Ipanema, and Scott Joplin's

LCP's  name comes from Mt. Dora's historic Lakeside Inn, the public performance venue and home of the musicians.

We hope you can join us!

Members kind of standoffish except for one. Never met event organizer or asked if any new members were present.

For the past few months, I have been unable to attend the CML events because of recovery from a fractured kneecap. Almost all of hese musical events are also posted for for three other groups, and I thought I had posted that I would not be in attendance. It looks like I did for the others, but the not for here. I apologize. Wanice is right, CML and other MeetUps invited usually claim the East Wall first table~ :-D It is also the one closest to the refreshments!

The Winter Park University Club will be having a film night on Tuesday, May 27th at 7 pm. The name of the film is "The Piano". It is a romantic drama film about a mute pianist and her daughter during the mid 19th century on west coast of New Zealand. Not a member of the Winter Park University Club but as a non member I think the fee is $ 5.00 to attend. Anyone interested in joining me there?

Yes informative and educational about the reeds and reed making that the bassoon and oboe musicians use when they perform.

It was a most educational and informative program, as well as entertaining. Many attendees told me they learned so much about the bassoon from Janet Harris and the oboe from Charles McGhee. Clarinettist Jenniffer program was ill and couldn't perform, but the program still was "great musical entertainment" as Norma said.
