I'm just guessing-- that Cecily's main problem with Dinnerstein was that she wasn't Jeremy Denk?

haha! actually at one pt I did think "I wonder how Denk would play this?" ;)

I read this and was amazed as I was thinking just that, having recently listened to his music, knew some of the folks who went to school with him etc.

Yes I will have to find you next time though....I am curious, what is it that detracted from the experience...I am interested in your perspective Cecily.

    Cecily,

Yes, I came to the concert last night, but I was there barely on time as I was driving from San Jose.

I liked Dinnerstein with those works, more so than the last time I saw her at Montalvo 3 years ago.

OK, glad you were able to make it. we had a couple others who carpooled from S.J. Maybe next time you could join them :)

I'm just kidding...but seriously, I thought she played LB's Op. 111 masterfully. And the setting and party after were great too.

I wasn't that into Dinnerstein...but I hate to ruin it for others if you enjoyed it ;) I'm glad some faithful meetup members showed up & we had fun socializing.

Enter Mills College at the security gate on MacArthur Blvd. & the concert hall will be on the same road, not far ahead on your right. http://www.mills.edu/maps/campus_map.pdf
