Tell us about why you want to join this Meetup Group, and perhaps your expectation? Thanks!:)

I attended the August concert at Redwood Gardens and really enjoyed all of the music and the friendly, spontaneous atmosphere of the group. It reminded me of when I was in college when I regularly attended the piano recitals of some very musically gifted friends. I sometimes felt that they played better than some of the famous professional musicians who came and played in the big music hall on campus. There is something special about the connection that the audience can have with a musician (and by extension with his/her music) in a small venue, which you just can't reproduce in a large hall! I'm primarily interested in joining this groups to appreciate the music, but it may ultimately inspire me to take up the piano again, which I played for eight years till age 18. Since then, I've sung in a number of choruses, including the University Chorus at UCB when they did the Brahms Requiem. I also sang the Mozart Requiem in another chorus.

I love classical music, and the small recital is my preferred venue! I don't know that many people who also love classical music, so it would also be great to meet other people who share that appreciation.
