Let's do a short & scenic 35-minute sunset walk! This area is safe at night! Police patrol the streets regularly.
This is a really nice area to walk, with beautiful houses, meticulously tended gardens, local fauna (dogs, cats, ducks, shore birds) and breathtaking views of the water! There are no sidewalks, so we'll walk along the streets and wave to the locals in their golf carts.
Where to meet:
We will meet across the street from the police station, at the city hall/community center. Look for Amanda in the parking lot across from the ducks. My cellphone # is [masked] and I drive a silver Honda Civic hybrid. I will probably have a dog with me.
To get there, take FM 2094 and turn North at Clear Lake Drive, the traffic light by the Marina Bay RV Resort and Opus Bistro. Go over the little bridge to the next block (South Shore Rd): the police station will be on your left and the community center will be on your right.
Leashed dogs are welcome, but you should be prepared to clean up after your dog.
Baby strollers are welcome.
We will walk for 30-40 minutes, so if you're just getting started walking, come on out! Please, let us all stick together and walk at the same pace so that no one gets left behind. We want the newbies to feel especially welcome! If you prefer a fast walk and want to walk ahead of the pack, please "double back" to where the rest of us are as often as you can. Thanks for your cooperation!
In case of rain:
If it is raining by 7:15PM, this walk will be canceled. If the rain stops, we'll still walk. We're walking on paved roads, so it should be OK.
