Formal education will make you a living, but self-education will make you a fortune. Each month we select a personal development or wealth-building book to read. Everyone reads on their own. Then the last Friday of the month, we'll get together for an hour or so to discuss the book, reflect on personal experiences, and implement action steps to put our new knowledge to use.
The July book is "Acres of Diamonds" by Russell Conwell. This is a quick & easy book, and definitely a classic. The central idea is that you don't need to look elsewhere for opportunity, achievement, or fortune—the resources to achieve all good things are present in your community.
You can find a hard copy of this book online (check Amazon), or you can print a copy for free at Gutenburg.org (http://www.gutenberg.org/files/368/368-h/368-h.htm).
"Don’t worry about the cost of books. It isn’t what the book costs. It’s what it will cost you if you don’t read it." - Jim Rohn
