MGM is the nicest Casino there. I liked their poker room - about a dozen tables but nicely appointed and professionally run.

call ahead to reserve your spot though.

I was there on friday and every table was full, and every list had at least 10 names on it, most of whom had called in ahead of time.

Motor City is probaly my fav casino, but not sure about poker room. It has been a long while since I have been up there. At Motor City you can eat/drink for free without having to tip waitress for free drinks. You just have to make short walk to get it yourself, at fountain pop machine.

Greektown used to comp you like 6 bucks for a meal, which was nice b/c you could usually get 2 or 3 if you waited for new people to be on duty or at the front desk.

Never played poker at MGM, so i cant comment.

Mailman says that greektown has a new poker room, so not sure what has been going on there lately.i

Motor City also has an awesome buffett.

This "food" oriented look at Detroit gambling has been brought to you by. MEAT.

Greektown has gotten rid of the $6 food comp, and replaced it with $1/hr on the Player's Card.

There is no bad Poker Room in Detroit. If you have time over that weekend, try them all.

If I was stuck in Detroit, I'd go across the bridge and play at Caesar's Windsor. 1) I hate leaving my money and business in M*ch*g*n, 2) The dealers are nicer and the floor is generally well-run, and 3) I've had some crazy good luck in there against drunk 19/20 yr old kids who can drink and gamble in Canada... just time it right to be at a table when the fish come out of the clubs.

Motor City has teh best action, but MGM is the best looking. But every time I've gone to MGM, there were only a few tables running. There are only about 10 tables in the room.
