Hi, I just joined the group and I haven't bought the book but I would like to sit in and listen. I just want to be around positive women that talk about great issues and see how professional woman interact...is that fine?

I would not mind at all, but it might be a conflict of interest because I wrote the book and it was recently published. Is there a certain format you use for discussion?

Book discussions are new for this group. It's a casual group, so everything we do is informal. I think it's great that you wrote the book. I assume feedback is would be good to have. You are welcome to host the discussion.

www.abebooks.com is a good used book site. I used them before. They have this book used starting at $1.

Yes. Amazon has both new and used. I went ahead and ordered a copy of the book yesterday because it looked interesting. Looking forward to reading it.

Are we definitely discussing the book "Sisters of the Yam" at this meeting? I need to know so I can order my copy of the book.

    Quote from book.
“I mostly want to remind her of the recipes of healing, and give her my own made-on-the spot remedy for the easing of her pain. I tell her, “Get a pen. Stop crying so you can write this down and start working on it tonight.” My remedy is long. But the last item on the list says: “When you wake up and find yourself living someplace where there is nobody you love and trust, no community, it is time to leave town – to pack up and go (you can even go tonight). And where you need to go is any place where there are arms that can hold you, that will not let you go.”

Crystal, I would love to. Let me know. I would be honored. The lease expensive copies can be found on Amazon.com (used copies).

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
