hi
If your interest is in understanding MySQL from a programmer perspective ( being able to design data requests and output) the this is for you. It touches on some database administration and backups but is NOT designed as a database administrator type course. The opportunity to learn from Aoirthoir and the others attending is great. ifferent backgrounds bring different approaches and ideas.

I am a bit confused. Why does this meetup cost money? Is this a true meetup or just a money making opportunity for the three who organize this. This is not a true meetup.

Welcome to the group, Ronald.
I like your style - constant learning on the road :-)
I must confess this meeting will be a little disorganized - work and private life have taken their toll on me over the last couple of weeks. I certainly plan to broadcast our meetings over Adobe Connect, but since I expect that this meeting will be about geting to know people, and planning the group direction, I don't think that it will make an interesting online meeting.

Hi Ron! Looking forward to meeting you. I hope we can steer clear of CMS wars, ;) but I'm glad to share why I think Drupal is all sorts of awesome...
