Today's Orientation finalized our next series of course dates. You can follow them by going to our calendar:http://cleveland-webmeetup.the396.com/calendar/
I will brief you all here though.
Thursday at 10am we will be focusing on HTML5 and CSS3 for the next several classes. Those start THIS WEEK. If you wish to attend YOU NEED to be at Wednesday's orientation. I will not be providing any explanations about what we are doing on Thursday, and will be jumping RIGHT INTO HTML5.
I added another Orientation NEXT Wednesday also at 7pm for those that missed today's due to inclement weather.
January's Weekend Classes will be on Sundays at 10am and 3pm. The entire Month of January will be dedicated to using and administrating WordPress. January's Sunday classes are free. Donations will be accepted though, and help us put on these classes.
January 29th we will be having TWO 4 hour workshops. The first is SVN, and the second is Security. See the calendar for details. This workshop is limited to TEN people because it is a HANDS ON workshop. If demand is there, I will add another Saturday session. Knowledge of the topics covered are a requirement for future classes I will be running. So you either need to learn the information in these Workshops, or better yet, save yourself (and me) the headache and just attend.
In February Mr. Michael Mirth will be running our SEO classes. These will be run only once each Sunday at 3pm. Per our policy of allowing the teacher to determine pricing, the SEO classes will involve a fee. Keep checking back for what's going to be covered and why you'll want to attend.
Then in March, I'll be conducting a WordPress Developer's Course. This will be Four weeks of INTENSIVE HANDS ON training. You will learn how to create your own themes, plugins, widgets, modify the WordPress Dashboard and more. This course will cover PHP and MySQL. Additionally you'll be learning the Krudh plugin, and modifying it to suit your purposes.
Soon (perhaps in April? We'll see) we expect to be offering a Graphic Design Course, including GIMP and Inkscape. This will be a paid course. As with the rest of our workshops and courses moving forward, this will be hands on AND INTENSE.
So that's our first quarter of 2011 for our Weekend Courses. There will be some Workshops interspersed on Saturdays, these will involve a fee.
Thursday's classes as mentioned will be focused on HTML5 and CSS3 at first. By January I will be posting the further direction that course will be taking.
