Re: [webdesign-396] Novice Study Group On Mondays (Please RSVP)

Be sure to iterate heavily the concept of "document flow" and "block level" vs. "inline" tags.

These are the tags I use in my beginner classes I teach (mostly for their greater semantic qualities):
    * Headings: the H1-H6 Elements
    * Paragraphs: the P Element
    * Line Breaks: the BR Element
    * Emphasis: the EM Element
    * Emphasis: the STRONG Element
    * Citation: the CITE Element
    * Citation: the BLOCKQUOTE Element
    * List Elements: UL, OL, LI
    * Definition List Elements: DL, DT, DD

This next week we will be continuing our review of HTML tags. We will have 3 HTML Tag Cheat Sheets available for study participants.

1. Commonly Used HTML Tags.
2. Table Tags.
3. Form Tags.

(Suggestions for 1 are very much welcome.)

We are now going to be meeting each week on Monday nights at 6:30pm. We're being sponsored by the wonderful folks at Design Interactive ( http://www.designinginteractive.com/contact/ )

Designing Interactive
20545 Center Ridge Rd. Suite 202
Rocky River, OH 44126
Monday Nights 6:30pm

We'll be going through an 8 week course, which will start with an introduction to HTML and CSS, then follow up with some very basic back end tutorials. So by the time the course is finished a novice should be able to create a basic, slightly interactive website, and load it onto a server.

Among the best news is that this course will be free (thanks to Interactive Design's sponsorship). So we hope to see any of yall that can make it there.

Feel free to email me any questions you have.

Also each week please RSVP by responding to this forum topic ( click here ) Simply state that you will be coming. This will help us keep the group manageable. Space is LIMITED and we are really nearly at full capacity, so RSVPing is VITAL please. If we need to form a second study group we will and I will be assisting those who cant make it Mondays, on another day of the week.
