We've used the Castro Visual Quickstart book as a text for our Web Publishing I class for several years now. It's very good, tho actually not as *visual* as others. some students find it kind of dry and dense, but most like it.?

A friendlier and equally good intro book is:?HTML Dog: The Best-Practice Guide to XHTML and CSS (Paperback)?by Patrick Griffiths. It gets the same overall rating with amazon - 4-1/2 stars - as Castro's, ?costs a couple bucks more.?

btw, (shameless plug here) if anyone wants to take our 16 wk class this fall, go to www.tri-c.edu and search courses for VCIM1570.

I believe you are talking about "HTML, XHTML & CSS" by Elizabeth Castro, from PeachPit Press. Its part of the 'Visual Quick Start Series'. Like you, I love this book! I am a newbie web developer and I have learned a lot from this book. Concise step-by-step instructions for most common scenarios and colorful/clear illustrations. -Rey

I had an XHTML/CSS book I once brought, I think I loaned it to someone.? It was a very blunt approach with good examples and simple wording.? As I remember they also had a lot of useful charts and whatnot.? I don't remember the exact name but the logo was a red square with a white bunny inside.? Whoever has that should check it out and let us know their thoughts.
