People at previous meetups asked about http://tech.groups.ya... and, yes, we can store files and links and photos there. You can do regular (normal) email also. You'll find any secret links there.

Besides our Web Design Meetup Group, there are lots of other Cleveland based Meetup Groups and Organizations with a bent towards the technical, and the web. Please feel free to post links here to these groups. We are definitely interested in sharing resources.

Thanks Ken for this information.

One group I think many of you would find interesting is the Northeast Ohio Usability Professionals Association (NEOUPA). Take a look at the web site here:

World usability day is this Thursday (November 8), it looks like we will have some pretty interesting speakers.

Thanks for mentioning this, Jason. I had no idea such a group existed. Not sure if I can make it this Thursday, but I'll try.

I'm 95% positive I'm going to check out the NEOUPA thing tonight. It's really a shame I only found out about that group last week, it looks like they've had awesome events in the past. (Particularly the one with IBM's UX team!)

I went to the NEOUPA event, and found it pretty worthwhile. The first presentation didn't really discuss usability so much as the process of a company working with a client to deliver custom interfaces tailored to their needs. Interesting, but nothing tangible to take away from that discussion. The second presentation was all about form usability (as related to the presenter's company) and was pretty good. I'd recommend checking this out to anyone else interested in usability.

I started a Linked In group and have been interacting with some of the members. It's purely a networking group and is dedicated to NE Ohio Software Engineers and Development Managers.

Join the group and pass it on to your friends.

Cleveland Game Developers has been a very active meetup group for years--and has been a great resource to keep me motivated and excited.

Just for fun, some of the group collaborated on an informal 3D browser game recently:

(Some updates/fixes are needed I'm afraid. Snow Leopard users: if you're in Safari, launch the browser as 32-bit. That bug will be fixed next month.)

Morgan thanks for the link man!

Of course http://cobol.meetup.c... is a meetup that I run which is about to explode with activity and much of it will be web focused.
