Our January Meetup at Visible Voice was fantastic! Music, fun (and wine) was had by all.

The book store is great, come in early and browse their eclectic collection then mosey on upstairs for our jam session. The room is private, comfortable and has great acoustics!

I'm amazed at how quickly we progressed from 3 to 4 chord songs!

The meeting at Visible Voice Books was very promising. Great to meet other players with the same musical interests, and its not easy for me to find them nearby. Future meetings should be fun.

I Shot the Sheriff, Simple kind of Man, Country Roads worked very well.

I think Heart of Gold by Neil Young sounded good too.

I think in an earlier meetup, Eric posted it as V: Gm-Cm, Br: Ebmaj7-Dm7-Gm7. I played through that and it seemed to work. So I think that would be...key of C minor (or Eb major if you prefer to think of it that way).

Eric- This last meetup attracted some really exceptional people. I like the idea of the group agreeing to two or three tunes in advance. I don't remember who suggested it but I think Neil Young type stuff is probably in the middle of our demographic. I really can't improvise in anything other than a minor pentatonic so something like "Cinnamon Girl" would be a great starter song for all us aspiring lead players ;-). You can do the "woo".

I'd like to make it, but right now Thursdays conflict. If this date frees up I will update my RSVP accordingly. I'll probably try to bring a bass next time.

Acoustic Jam session at Unitarian Universalist Society of Cleveland, 2728 Lancashire, Cleveland Heights, OH 44106, Sunday, January 26, 12:30 pm. Perfect for East Siders and people who can't make it on Thursdays. Eric, can you set up a meetup for this?

That's cool. I'll try to make it to this one - thanks for posting. Would you use a bass with a small-ish amp or should I bring my acoustic guitar?

The acoustic would probably be better.

Can you maybe pick some dates that aren't Thursdays? It would be nice to be able to make it to one of these.
