New to climbing? Join us and get started with a free belay lesson and a supportive group of climbers of all abilities!
Experienced climber? Come climb with some great new people.
We meet at Island Rock in Plainview Weds. nights from 7PM until close (11PM). Tell the front desk you are with the Meetup to get a discounted day pass ($4 off). If you've never belayed (safe rope handling) before you'll need a FREE lesson (normally $32). Free lessons are at 7 pm and you must RSVP so we know how many are coming. This is for the Meetup members only!
Costs:
• There is no cost to join the meetup
• Island Rock day pass: $22 adult
• Shoes and safety harness rental: $10
*Don't forget to ask for your Meetup discount
On any Wednesday night there are 10-20 Meetup members happy to have you join them climbing (even if only a handful confirmed their RSVP).
Our members are into all forms of climbing: bouldering, top-rope and lead (sport) climbing. The gym also has yoga, ninja warrior and weight training. Many of us are outdoor enthusiasts who also do outdoor rock climbing, ice climbing, hiking, camping, backpacking etc.
