Introduction

My best indoor climbing is about 5.10b top rope. I've been outdoor a few times and have taken two Outdoor Adventure Club anchoring classes. And I come with anchoring gear and climbing rope included.

When did you first start climbing, or start climbing again after a long break? (year or month & year)

June 2010

What is your current skill level? (ex. 5.11a, top rope, lead)

5.10b indoor, top rope, anchoring off bolts/pro (but not much experience setting the pro itself)

How often do you climb?

1-2 times per week

If you have a "home gym" where you most prefer to climb, which one is it?

Berkeley Ironworks

So far, I think it's great, but I am a little biased... ;-)

  • Hi PAtrick, How frustrating!
YOu may have received our notice about a special screening of the awardwinning movie QUEEN OF THE SUN on Monday evening 6.15PM at Redwood City Public Library. It is a social and dinner followed by the movie. Really neat!
Here is the link for more details- hope it works! And hope to see you, too!

  • Thanks!! Hoping we can all network with a Smile!! Willing to work with all types of climbers, even the safety-anal ones! Have been on Meetup since 2009 & have come across the positives as well as the negatives. Have NO intentions of creating ANY drama!! Thank you for allowing me to find "like minded people"!! Peace out!!!

  • Awesome!!! thanks for the event organizer rites. I'll post in good faith. Got 2 really good Pt. Dume ones coming up. :) Do you ever make your way down here to the los angeles area?

  • sure - just look into your local barns and sign up to take a beginner lesson - you'll meet folks and 'get the lay of the land' - if you become seriously interested you could 'sponsor' a horse (part ownership) to have more freedom and time with 'your' horse

  • Oh no! So sorry to hear that you broke your wrist. I guess it wouldn't be too appropriate of me to make a joke now about why skiing is far superior and snowboarding is evil. So I will save it until later. ;) I have seen people climb with one hand before.
Take good care of yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

  • Hi Patrick. Looks like some folks from the Brainiac group want to meet up beforehand at a restaurant on University Ave. Keep checking the Brainiac web site to see what's happening. If all else fails, you can call me at [masked].

  • Hi Patrick, Had a great time as well. Thank you for the props on the main page. Look forward to the next climb on meet-up event when I can make it back down to the bay area.
