Climbing at the Cliffs!

Join us at the largest climbing facility in the Northeast, the Cliffs at LIC.

All levels are welcome.  There's something for everyone, from novices who have never climbed before, all the way up to 5.14!

In addition to regular climbing, the Cliffs are featuring Dry Ice Tools.

And don't forget about the highline slacklining (orientation required), and even a full fitness center with cardio, free weights, and exercise machines.

Come join us.  We'll meet in the front area at 7:00pm.  If you're late, we might be climbing, so you'll have to look for us.  I'll also post, the day before, what I'll be wearing so that you'll be able to find me easily.

Afterwards, some of us may grab a bite to eat, location TBD.

Notice to beginners: if you have never ever climbed or belayed before, it is recommended that you take Climbing 101.  Otherwise, you won't be able to do rope climbing (but you can still boulder!)  Classes can be scheduled here.  There is a nominal fee for this. What to wear: comfortable clothes (think yoga).

Notice to newcomers: You need to pass a belay certification test.  If you've belayed before, the test will only take a couple of minutes.  If you need a refresher, a test partner, or belay partner, just let me know.

Hey all, I might be running a little late this week. I should be there no later than 7:30. I'll post when I arrive. If you're looking for me, I'll be wearing a red t-shirt, blue shorts, black climbing shoes, and a bright orange chalk bag. See you soon!

    Hello Jason,

I am a first timer and I'll need to do that course. What will be the fee for me when I come. Are there any discounts through our group or do I pay regular price. Let me know.

    I'll see you on 25th June :)

Hello Dan, thanks for the reply. So what I am thinking is I'll come early that day around 6pm and get that belay or course whatever I need to take for 1 hr. After that I'll continue with you guys and basically get myself introduced to the group...How does that sounds ??

Sounds good. But I should point out that there's no meetup discount this week. The Cliffs offers discounted meetups only once per month for any meetup group. I'll be sure to mention it in the meetup description when we have the discount. Our next discounted meetup will be in July. The regular pricing is here:

There is a talk this night at REI by some alpinist about Patagonia. Haven't decided if I'll make that or join you guys.
