August 2012 - Clojure Users Group Meetup

  • August 15, 2012 · 6:45 PM

Alex Kehayias will talk on Aleph, a non-blocking, async Clojure web server for use with websockets. Kovas Boguta will present a new version of Session.

---------------

We are back in Asbury Park.  This room is on the Second Floor of Chelsea Market on the 9th Ave. side. To get there, just walk up the stairs near the guard (who will ignore you) and enter on the second floor.  The room is straight ahead from there.

Had heard of Aleph, but wasn't familiar with it. Useful info. The impromptu lightning talks and discussion afterwards were very enlightening. Particularly liked hearing about nREPL, debugging, and Session. (Looked up the presentation from the May 2012 meeting.)

During the Meetup, Alex asked about the standard project directory structure for JVM projects, and David mentioned that Leiningen is built on top of Apache Maven. I've found that the best introduction to Maven is the Sontatype book "Maven by Example" which is available free online here: http://www.sonatype.com/books/m...

It should be on the right when you enter Chelsea Market. Right next to the guard's desk and the elevator.

Yeah, they're iron stairs. If you walk up to the 2nd floor, I've propped the door open with scissors.
