Scalability and Black Friday + Docker 2.0

Hi folks!

This month, we're going to talk about web scalability and Black Friday sales with our friends from Bazaarvoice!

In addition to our featured talk, we're going to finish up our Docker talks from last month that we weren't able to get to...

Docker 2.0

• Ian Richardson to talk about Docker+Rundeck demo.

• Aater Suleman to talk about Docker usecases at Flux7.

• Paul Czarkowski to talk about Deis.

How Bazaarvoice Scales For Black Friday

At Bazaarvoice, our SaaS solution is embedded in thousands of retail Web sites, so the holiday shopping season that is a peak for retailers everywhere is a super-peak for us. We served out 1.35 billion reviews during Cyber Monday 2013. Every year brings more scale and more challenges.  We will explain how Bazaarvoice prepared this year - how long it took, what we did, and how we use the cloud to address a complex, multitier scaling problem.

Hey all, I didn't get a chance to announce this - but Bazaarvoice is opening up its annual internal tech conference and hackathon to other Austin devs! Last year we had Adrian Cockroft (Netflix), Jason Baldridge (UT), Nick Bailey (Datastax), and Peter Wang (Continuum Analytics) - this year, it's Theo Schlossnagle (Circonus), Greg Brockman (Stripe CTF), and Bob Metcalf (UT)! Some tech talks but mostly a hackathon, so coders only! And you are the first ones to know the eventbrite is open to the public - April 2-4 at the Norris Conference Center. Register your hackathon teams on Hacker League (
