Main Presentation Abstract:
Hosting costs are an area of major concern for most SaaS companies. These costs drive many important decisions around scale, pricing, and feasibility of a freemium business model. Running our service on Docker containers has helped us at Shippable reduce cost of operations on Amazon EC2 by ~70%, while also reducing deployment time. Shippable's software development workflow has become more efficient as a result and we can deploy service updates to production several times a day. Best of all, we can pass these savings on to our users. Avi Cavale will share our learnings and tips on how to 'containerize your hypervisors.
