An Introduction to Apache CloudStack by Animesh Chaturvedi, Sr Manager Product Development, Citrix Systems

Apache CloudStack is a project undergoing incubation at the Apache Software Foundation. CloudStack helps an admin or devops engineer build an IaaS cloud. This talk provides a brief overview on Apache CloudStack and an insight will be given on how new people can jump in and contribute in the vibrant Apache CloudStack community.

 

CloudStack User Interface and User Experience by Sonny Chhen, Apache CloudStack Committer & CloudStack's User Interface and User Experience Manager

During this presentation, attendees will get a greater understanding of CloudStack's User Interface, reasoning behind the design, and a demonstration of the UI, installation, and key features.

 


Apache CloudStack Architecture by Alex Huang, Apache CloudStack PPMC Member

7:20pm – 8:10pm

 

During this session, Alex Huang will be presenting a system-level explanation, helping you with the context for the deployment and runtime environment of CloudStack. Topics to be covered: problem definition, feature set overview, system VMs, system architecture & context and component view.

 

Using DevCloud by Edison Su, Apache CloudStack PPMC Member

8:10pm – 9:00pm

 

In this part of the session, developers will get an opportunity to check out the CloudStack source code a demo will be shown on how to build CloudStack and setup a development environment using DevCloud.

 

DevCloud is a virtual appliance sandbox environment for developing on CloudStack. DevCloud runs on open source VirtualBox and is based on Ubuntu 12.04, open source xen server, a NFS server, MySQL server and comes with Java and other build tools preinstalled on it.
