Building Web Applications with Node.js

Learn how to utilize server side JavaScript. In this code-along demo, Casey will show how create a server side application that can be polled for real time data using Backbone.js. Besides the basics of Node.js, Express + Redis will also be demonstrated as a way to make the application even faster and easier to develop.

Casey Foster is a core contributor to Backbone.js, co-author of Developing a Backbone Edge, and developer at OrgSync.

The topic and content of this meetup was great. I thought the presented did a overall good job presenting the topic. However, he could have enhanced the presentation with and good overview of Nodejs, Express, and Redis before the code example. Overall, I thought the content contained in the presentation was very valuable.

How could I miss this? In the email I got the final line reads Besides the basics of Node.js, Express + Redis will also be demons...

I'm looking forward to seeing them demons...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
