Yes, I've visited a couple in the San Francisco Bay Area, have been hoping to see something like it in Indy.
I will be exploring topics for my master's thesis, which I expect to involve the topics I mentioned in my bio. This fall I will be working with the folks at http://idialab.org most likely doing HCI-related work. I'm excited about the possibilities of doing something interactive on a larger scale, perhaps a cloud of sensors in a space interacting in some fashion.
Arduino-based: a home thermostat/data logger; an interactive LED display; a sound level monitor and spectrum analyzer w/ data logging. Working on Raspberry Pi-based e-mail listener that activates a relay based on details in the e-mails received.
Possibly in the future. I still have a year of grad school left.
Have a Computer Science / Software background, but am currently doing graduate studies in architecture at Ball State. Excited about the maker movement, DIY electronics, HCI, digital fabrication, and technology's role in architecture.
