Started SPIES Single Professional Introductions (for the) Especially Selective, LLC June 21, 1994. Elevated professional matchmaking by representing clients as their agent, advocate, relationship adviser and executive recruiter to find extraordinary single men and women great dates and true loves. Honored to be in APS/AAAME 2-year Academy for the Advancement of Small, Minority- & Women-Owned Enterprises Class 15 to grow SPIES matchmaking services in cities in the US and pursue a vision to help people find love all around the world. Have faith and patience and make a plan. You are meant to be loved! And to love. Served 10 years US Navy, 6 years active reserve: Radioman Chief Petty Officer then commissioned Naval Officer (LT). As a Supply Corps officer, I learned business skills: request bids, review offers, award contracts, ensure delivery. 17 duty assignments: built friendships/people skills with all types of people in all kinds of places while "seeing the world."
I treated a shoe store competition as a business in 7th grade. (Or was it 5th?) I stood in front of the Ben Franklin store at the corner of our town square, across from the regal Logan County Court House. I begged strangers to go into the store a half block down from the square and look at shoes to help me win. Even if they didn't buy, I told them I still earned points! I called into the radio station in my small town (Lincoln, IL) during the call in show. I asked people to donate used books. You earned a point for every book you collected. Mom was blind and Dad was legally blind, so we didn't have a car. I went and picked them up on my Huffy bicycle. I beat my girlfriend's Mom. I won a mixer for 3rd place, but I wanted the big wall clock that was 4th or 5th place. :-( I learned a strategic lesson here. I would have traded her the mixer for the clock, if I had any clue how to do things like that then. Darn it!
