I find the collaboration and co-ownership of co-production incredibly interesting, especially given the challenges facing traditional public service. With increasing budget constraints, higher demand for "traditional" public services and the movement towards open government, there is a need to do things differently. I think that co-production is a sustainable way to engage everyone in the delivery of services. It gives governments a new way to deliver services while making sure that citizens are engaged and receiving what they want.
I am looking forward to meeting with colleagues with different views on both co-production and the role of government in delivering services. I am bringing my passion for social innovation and creativity in the public service, as well as my experience with the OPS. I think that this group will bring out some amazing and creative ideas!
I'm a policy analyst for the Ontario Public Service and am excited about the potential for co-production!
