Ride 22 or 27 miles at average speed near 11 to 13 mph allowing conversation but challenging with some hills. Possible stops for coffee/snacks at Moraga Shopping Center or Peet's in Orinda.
Meet at the parking lot east of / next to the dog park at Heather Farm.
Route takes rider on Iron Horse Trail, Newell and Olympic and Iron Horse Trail to Moraga. Return or continue on Moraga Way (fairly good bike lane) to Orinda, bike trail next to highway 24 and El Nido Ranch Rd and Mt Diablo Blvd to Lafayette, zig zag a little through residential streets of Lafayette to get to Lafayette/Moraga Trail. Follow Olympic to Newell Ave again to Iron Horse Trail and dog park.

The route in Lafayette will be different - turning right onto Bickerstaff, left onto Crescent, right onto Dewing, left onto Brook, cross Moraga Rd (with traffic lights) and left onto School St (this is a busy odd intersection).
Please wear a helmet, have pump, small set of tools, tire irons, one or two spare tubes. Remember to use hand/arm signals and call out for turns, slowing and hazards; ride single file on narrower sections .
Ride, Skill, Fitness Rating System (RSFRS) puts this at a 3/LT/27/>30/3+. Riders who may be able to feel most comfort are those doing moderate to vigorous intensity cardio/aerobic exercise for >30 minutes and =/>3 or more days per week.
