Pleasant Hill-Castro Valley loop

50 miles (approx0
3200 ft approx elevation gain

This is a loop from PH BART out to Castro Valley via Pinehurst and Redwood Rd and returning back via Dublin Canyon to San Ramon . This ride has a mixture of flats, grades and some moderate sustained climbing.

Road bikes are most appropriate for this ride.

I have not been doing much group riding for awhile and my pace these days is pretty darn slow so I do not anticipate anyone getting dropped (except perhaps me!) however I cannot guarantee a no-drop ride. I will proceed at a steady pace with a few short regroups (up to a few minutes) if needed.
To do this ride, you should be comfortable with the distance, riding in traffic as well as remote areas, climbing and descending hills. You should also be able to fix a flat and navigate on your own in the event you get separated from the group.
Helmets required.

Route:
Start Pleasant Hill BART
Oak Rd turns into N Civic Dr
L N California Blvd
R Olympic Blvd
S. onto Trail

Thanks everybody for coming out to ride today. Really good group. Thanks for patience on climbs. Hopefully not too much waiting for the slow poke here. Once we got to the flat lands the pace was not too shabby. Masa and Jorge were like a runaway freight train, not to be caught. Some memorable quotes from today’s ride (possibly para-phrased and totally taken out of context)

    Peter: “I’m a little scared”
Jorge: “Masa was on a PR rampage”
    Masa: AAARGHH! (such a faker)
Gregg: HO-LY CRAP (oh yeah and there was also something about me looking like Hitler-it’s OK though it’s only because I had managed to smear something on my face that apparently resembled a moustache)

And..the best quote of the day:

Bruce: “This was my longest ride” (Kudos Bruce! You did great)

@Kitty and Steve-I hope you felt our essence as you followed in our path later.

Very nice course, the weather was close to ideal (cool to start and warmed up) and the group was a very nice mix.

Hi Navi. I can't really tell you when we'll be there but if you're there when we get there then great.
