I'm submitting an ambitious proposal which I hope will make the finals and be presented in San Francisco in January to Silicon Valley VCs. It is a real-time distributed network system for data modeling, analysis, and visualization for subsurface oil & gas exploration & production. The application is built and now I need to move the data management and processing to a (cloud) server system. The system is written in Java and Scala. While I'm an expert in software systems for the geosciences, I'm a neophyte on the networking side. The application requires a sophisticated asynchronous system optimized for handling large data volumes. It looks to me like Netty is the right choice. Play! Framework which is built on Netty provides a lot of higher level functionality. I'm looking for a partner who is a network systems guru and is interested in a fantastic startup opportunity.
