Let's try this one again everyone, fingers crossed for sunshine!!
On Saturday 28th June we’ll be following the Green Chain walk from Beckenham to Chislehurst. This time it's more conversations than cocktails but there will hopefully be some gorgeous weather and there is the possibility of half a shandy after all the walking!
The Walk and Lunch:
The route is a pleasant 5 miles, and takes in parks and residential streets, via pavements and rough tracks. The walk should take about two and half hours. Sensible footwear is required; in summer trainers will be fine. Please bring a bottle of water with you as it will be difficult to find refreshments on the tour.
The route will be section 9, Beckenham Place Park to Chislehurst. (Link: http://beta.greenchain.com/info/5/walking/2/green_chain_walk-sections/9).
At the end of the walk, for those that wish to, we will have lunch in the Queen’s Head, Chislehurst: http://www.emberinns.co.uk/the-queens-head-chislehurst/food/.
Meet At: Beckenham Place Park main car park (near the Cafe/Golf Club), 10:30am Saturday 28th June. Information on how to get there: http://www.beckenhamplaceparkfriends.org.uk/getthere.htm, and links to Google Maps:

Transport back to Beckenham will be via the 162 bus (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/bus/route/162/). This bus also travels via Chislehurst & Bickley Stations, and the centre of Bromley.
Other Important Notes:
We won’t be walking fast, but you should have a reasonable level of fitness to participate. Please note by taking part you agree this is entirely at your own risk.
We will check the weather and confirm via Meetup on the evening of Friday 27th June that the walk is going ahead – please remember to check Meetup for the latest details. If the walk doesn’t go ahead due to bad weather, details on an alternative plan will be provided – likely to involve a coffee and cake morning in the centre of Beckenham.
