You are invited to join us for Cocktails in Historic San Diego!
This group is for anyone interested in the history and architecture of San Diego. The goal is to provide a comfortable social happy hour in historically significant surroundings, and increase awareness of some of the triumphs of preservationists in the San Diego area.
Our events are held monthly in historic hotels, restaurants/lounges, and other special event venues in metropolitan San Diego. At nearly every event, a local historian/presenter will be on-hand to talk about the history of the space and answer any questions.
There is a small per-meeting fee to help offset our Meetup Fee costs. Our event format is nearly always cash-bar / no-host food and cocktails.
Our inaugural meetup was in October of 2007, at the Horton Grand Hotel with a small group of 12 attendees. Since then our group membership has grown to nearly 700 members -- with attendance at our events ranging from 50 people to over 100. We've had an amazing behind the scenes tour of the newly renovated US Grant Hotel, celebrated Boxing Day at the Hotel del Coronado, and even a very special private peek inside the no-longer-open-to-the-public El Cortez Hotel building, led by an original 1950s El Cortez door man. These are just some of our fun-filled events!
KEEP CHECKING OUR CALENDAR FOR NEW EVENTS . . . and remember YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE INVITATIONS AND EVENT INFORMATION, which is available for members only.
Can't wait to see you there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
