Developing compelling apps and games that are fun and highly polished. On the business side I am interested in all the small business aspects of being an independent iOS developer. From dealing with support emails, to tax write-offs. On a technical side I am always interested in learning more about objective-C, Xcode, UIKit, CoreGraphics, CoreData, and many other Apple frameworks.
I'd be interested in many topics for future meet-ups. I would also be interested in potentially presenting some topics that are near and dear to me. I'll list the few topics I'd be interested in presenting in case it would have any appeal. •From zero to Appstore: My journey producing my app, from initially hiring a programmer on the side with a day job as a video producer, to eventually quitting my full-time job and teaching myself Objective-C and how to develop and write code for iOS. (The ups, the downs, the resources, etc.) •Working with graphic designers: I have a lot of experience working with contractors from my video producing days, and have found a graphic designer that I enjoy working with. I have some stories with examples and assets showing the design process, as well as the challenges of working with and trusting someone who is more skilled then yourself. •Support Emails: Strategies on how to kill with kindness, and turn angry customers into happy ones.
Interactive Sketchbook, a drawing app for iPad that lets you follow drawing tutorials or sketch photos from your own photo reference. For the curious: http://www.interactive-sketchbook.com
I was born in metro Detroit, but have lived in Lansing ever since graduating with a Media Arts Degree from MSU. After 10 years of being a video producer I am now a full time iOS Developer. I like creating things: on film, with code, and with legos.
