    Hi everyone. My name's Ismail and I'm interested in attending the meetup however I need to know first if there's wheelchair access in the building for me to get in. Also if there's enough room for me to get set up with my laptop.

    I'm hoping to learn how to develop some small, fun games using python and also to collaborate with like minded people who want to have fun with programming. :)

      I'm so sorry Izzy :( I'm going to look for a venue that is better suited to wheelchairs for the next code-kuma, I've been asking around and there are some places I can ask.

      You can find Causeway Lane either through Bourke St or Little Collins St.

      Thanks all, didn't stick around but I'll try again next time... I'm sure there's this corollary to Betteridges law where if I ask if I'm lost, the answer is probably "yes" :p

    I'm excited about tonight, but also a bit nervous - I haven't done much development for years and only picked it back up a few months ago and not that good yet - hope that's ok!

      Sounds great!

      Don't be nervous! code-kuma is all about helping eachother, so don't hesitate to ask questions of anyone if you need help with anything :)

    Hey all! I was thinking if bringing some snacks along. Does anyone have any preferences? Pomke, what kind of things should I bring around?

    • Pomke

      Anything you like :)

    I'm excited! Anyone have a project in mind that they'll be working on?

      I plan on bringing down my laptop to hack on my slowly being built Clojure 2D Game... but I'm happy to help anyone out on anything really - front end, back end, Go, Ruby, JVM stuff, JS, FP, OO, whatever people are doing!

      just one! hahaha... I'll probably be swimming the functional seas too, trying to create a java8 stream/lambda hardware controller... it's kind of half done so far.

    hey, anyone have a direct link to the website mentioned in the intro... I was trying to work out what "kuma" meant... and "bear" was the most flattering result... not sure what a "code bear" is :) ... but when in Rome: "grawr, code, grawrrrr!"

    June 10, 2014

    • Pomke

      rawwwrr graaaah.. yep kuma means bear, I'll let Liza explain that one c_c;

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
