Let's start a project (or two)

  • January 11, 2012 · 7:00 PM

Let's get together for our second meetup. The last one was a lot of fun and it was great meeting all of you. This time we'd like to get a little more into some code. We're going to use the Didit offices which will be more conducive to hacking (although we're still planning on getting some food and beer). We have plenty of internets and projectors, so just bring your laptop.

One thing I'd love to do during the meetup is to get started on a group project. We've got a couple of suggestions already but we can really use some more. Please see the discussion thread for details "Let's start a github project".

We can spend the remainder of the time planning the project or doing some general hacking.

See you then!

Low turnout this time, though it was still a good time and I was glad we got to dive into some code. Siraaj gave us a great intro to erlang and we started a project on github (https://github.com/code-strong-island/syslog) for us n00bs to practice with. Overall it was a good event, I hope for a better turn out for the next one though.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
