DC Transparency and Open Government Initiative Working Session

In October, Mayor Gray announced a new “Transparency and Open Government Initiative” and opened a period for public comment on how to increase openness and transparency in government.

Join Code for DC and DC Legal Hackers to help us draft our comments on this initiative ahead of the November 29 deadline.

We'll have a facilitated discussion that will be open to new voices but also focus on consolidating ideas already being discussed on the Code for DC listserv and on Github. Join those discussions now and make your voice heard!

Google CEO Eric Schmidt is speaking at 5pm this evening at SAIS on Mass Ave. I invited him to stop by Code for DC tonight, let's see if he shows up!

I'm sick and working from home today to save everyone the contageon. Would it be possible to be G+'ed in (hangout + gdoc)?

Hey Logan - most of what we're doing tonight will involve breakout groups and a lot of dialog that isn't too conducive to a hangout. BUT. We will be digitizing everything and moving it to the internet post-haste. Those who can't make it tonight will definitely still have the chance to contribute.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
