A very nice lady told me of this group and I just want to know if this is a good place to start learning coding and such. I have very selective knowledge on the subject and I'm hoping to actually begin learning somewhere.

This is a good place to start learning coding if you are willing to put time and energy into a project helping where you can and look for your own opportunities to learn from your team and other members along the way.

Oh, and does anyone have a vehicle that wouldn't mind giving me a ride? I live in the greater northeast part of the city.

I know I am probably repeating myself, but in case anyone missed my introduction, the project I am currently working on is with a domain I own called SmallBizPhilly.com. I would like to turn that into a niche social networking website built from scratch, and need someone that knows how to do back-end development, specifically PHP and coding. If anyone is interested in my project, notify me and I look forward to meeting you at the event.

    Hello All,
My name is Zoey. I am currently studying Computer and Information Technology at Upenn. I am a beginner in programming and would love to sharpen my programming skills through some meaningful projects.
I will come to the meet-up tomorrow after school, probably around 7pm (Hope that's not too late!). I would love to meet all of you!

By the way, are there any projects willing to take beginners?

    1 · January 22, 2014

    • Chris A.

Most projects could benefit in some way from anyone's added dedication, regardless of skills or experience level!

Zoey, I own a domain called SmallBizPhilly.com. I would like to turn that into a social networking website that would be built from scratch. If you know anything about back-end developing and coding, I would love to bring you on board to help me with my project, as well give you equity in my company.

In light of the recent weather complications, is this still expected to be on for tomorrow? Where should we look for updates?

    January 22, 2014

    • Chris A.

The snow has not affected our plans and there is no further snow in the forecast. If a workshop were to be canceled we would do it through meetup.com and you would get an email

    • Corey A.

As far as I know the only thing that might cause a cancellation would be a worldwide pizza shortage. Not snow.

    Hi Chris,

I won't be able to attend tomorrow. I really miss coming to the "hackathon that never ends" :-). I hope to get back on track in the coming weeks.

    Best,

    Faye

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
