Speaker Bio:
Jan Medved is a Distinguished Engineer in the CTO office at Cisco Systems. He has been involved with the OpenDaylight project since February 2013. In addition to OpenDaylight, Jan works on several SDN-related projects at Cisco, and is active in IETF and other standards organizations.
Abstract: The technical talk will be an overview of SDN and OpenDaylight, an scalable, modular, versatile open source SDN controller that is being developed at Linux Foundation. First, the OpenDaylight project (i.e. The community) will be introduced. Next, an overview of the OpenDaylight controller platform and application development environment will be given. Finally, SDN applications that have been developed on top of the OpenDaylight platform will be described and an application will be demonstrated.
