What brings you to Colorado Code for Communities?

I would love to gain more experience coding. I thought this would be a great opportunity to work with a group for a greater good while learning!

What's the biggest community problem you want to work on?

Community problem... hmmm. My sister is a teacher at an ESL charter school. She often tells me about the problems she faces with the students. Attendance, homework accountability, the time to grade papers, provide feedback to parents, and the list goes on. Her job is challenging and the students are challenged and often discouraged. Trying to find a way to reduce the red tape/paperwork and allow her to teach. I am not sure exactly how to do this, but I am sure she has ideas that would help her. I can bring her along if needed! :-) I think as a teacher, she feels responsible to propel her students forward. I think there are many programs out there, especially IT that could encourage these kids and help them to succeed. I am not sure as a teacher she is aware of all the programs. Maybe a Glass door kind of app for local programs to benefit kids.

Would you like to work primarily in Boulder or in Denver?

Introduction

Hi - I am new in the industry and trying to get more experience. Always stumped to create projects, but want to apply what I have learned so far!
