Coder Kids is a free and open non-profit group, founded for both girls and boys ages 6-16 interested in technology.

Our major focus is on learning and exploring computer science and programming. Primarily we teach computer programming, creating games with the Scratch language from MIT.  We will also cover HTML, CSS, how the Web works, and more.  Some of our Middle School level Coder Kids are learning JavaScript so they can build web sites.

Our goal is to encourage kids to develop their interests in all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through mentoring and hands-on learning with cool programming projects, interesting demos, and presentations by other kids. We especially want to encourage girls and kids from other underrepresented groups to get involved with learning programming and exploring STEM careers.

We hold a workshop roughly once a month, and special events as appropriate; it is a great way to meet other kids with technology interests. This group is run by volunteers; we need programming mentors, so if you have programming experience, please volunteer!

Note that all kids must be accompanied to the workshop by an adult over 18, or they won't be permitted to attend.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
