First of all thank you for having a look at our group. We hope you find what you are looking for here (or at least some of it:-). The idea with our group is to show ourselves and others, concepts of the potential we all have within ourselves to improve our quality of life; whether that be greater happiness, greater joy, love, improved relationships, material comforts or whatever that means to each and every one of us. We've likely all been involved in groups and organization before where the attempt is made to do this (and many do to an extent) however, in my experience anyway, things often seem to get off track with rituals, events and activities which I didn't somehow understand or get as directly important to the aim of helping ourselves and others improve. Have you ever felt the same way? Here, at Coffee Chat, you may have found what you've been looking for! Here's a bit more about coffee chat... For the last 5 years I lived on the prairies near the city of Saskatoon. In that area, with the help of others started Coffee Chat, which has been going for 4 years now. For family reasons I now spend some time in the Windsor Detroit area and wish to continue this tradition here. To find out more you can visit out meetup site in Saskatoon here... http://www.meetup.com/Coffee-Chat-improving/ and/or a blog site I maintain here... http://coffeechat.webs.com/
How it all got started?... For a number of years I published an on-line newsletter to help people improve their lives in a certain way, a publication which was read worldwide by thousands. Then I found out that I and others liked more than just the on-line experience so I began meeting with people in Saskatoon over coffee, tea or whatever to and share ideas which have worked for me, my on-line readers and for others. Ideas which help to improve the quality of life experiences. What started out as myself and one other having a coffee eventually evolved into myself and upwards of 30 people enjoying a mini "Ted Talks" presentation or a moderated discussion on various topics. The side benefits have been fantastic as a whole community of hundreds of people took form; invitations to Barbecues, book-study groups and other social events also came to life.
Though I don't know what this idea will look like in this area, I'm putting the idea out there so that in this region as on the prairies there can be a forum of people where in a safe environment, we can share what is working in our lives. We can share ideas on improving the quality of our life experiences. Hope to see you soon!
