WEDNESDAY: DRINK COFFEE & WRITE CODE

COFFEE & CODE!!!!

Wednesdays!!

Veterans of the group know what's-what. However, if you're new, follow these simple rules:

1) Show up at ANY time between 4 pm and 9 pm and for ANY length of time.

No pressure to have to meetup at a specific time or stay until the end.  If you're a keener, you can even show up earlier and stay later; it's totally up to you!

2) Bring a project!

It can be a game, a website, or a learning resource you're using to learn how to code.  All levels of expertise are welcome and I strongly encourage you to ask questions, exchange ideas, debate coding practices, or whatever tickles your fancy.  Come ready to chat or come with headphones so you can concentrate ;)

3) Keep it casual.

We're meeting up so can meet fellow coders and have fun coding in a group (because, let's face it, coding by yourself isn't always fun).

And that's it!  I hope to see you all (well... maybe not ALL of you as there's almost 100 people in this group...) there :)  I'll be doing this event again on Sundays for those of you who can't make it on Wednesdays.

Happy Coding,

-Graham

I won't be able to make this coffee and code :( And, actually, not for another 6 weeks (My French classes had to be moved to Wednesdays and they're in the west-end).

SO - I have a question: Should I leave the meetup on Wednesdays or should I change it? I don't really NEED to be there if Wednesday works best for everyone. Are there other days of the week that work well for anyone? I was thinking either Tuesdays or Thursdays if I end up changing the day of the meetup (or, perhaps adding a day!). Let me know what you think.

Any day, but keep it at Tango

I think we all enjoy Tango as a nice spot for a meetup, but we should accommodate Graham for his own group after all. Can we make Tango on Tues for example, and if there is enough interest, perhaps add another day at another location? Sometimes we're almost overloading Tango, so it may be good timing for an additional day. Adding different location, gives us more options and a way of attracting people who don't live/work near Queen East. If I may suggest for a new spot, something on the subway line is easy for anyone to reach. I like the library idea (credit to Thiago). Large tables, internet access, some have conference rooms, and no pressure to buy anything, except books of course, but I hear you can borrow those... A different environment gives incentive for some to come twice a week, who otherwise may choose one day or the other.

Sorry but I am a bit confused. Is the place for Wednesdays still the same? Tango?

Yes. Tango on Wednesdays and CSI on Sundays

Yeah that's an old update that I should probably remove. Thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
