Janet Cowell, currently an NC State Senator representing the 16th Senatorial District (Wake Co.), is a candidate for State Treasurer of North Carolina. Prior to her Senate service, Janet served as a Raleigh City Councillor, At Large.
Janet is an advocate for the environment, increased transparency in government, better state employee benefits, improved planning in local and state government, and smart economic development. Her hard work on behalf of North Carolina has earned her great respect throughout the state and the Raleigh area.
