Gotterdammerung (Religious Risk) again...again

So the last one got snowed out. Let's try it again. Except since I have to work next Sunday afternoon, and there's another Saturday morning/afternoon game session, let's try it for Friday evening.

I have to work at 11 that night, meaning we'll need to wrap up by about 10:30. I'll get there early to set up, so hopefully we can get started quickly once people show up.

And for the people who aren't keeping score, here's the quick outline of the game again:

It's like Risk (and we've mostly been playing it on Risk-style map boards), with a few major differences.
#1, Rather than being a general and controlling your troops, you are a god (or entire pantheon) controlling your disciples.
#2, There’s no blanket rule preventing multiple factions from occupying the same territory at the same time (though some factions are more aggressive and warlike than others, and may not tolerate it themselves).
And #3, rather than everyone trying to take over the world, each faction has its own win condition – which means that multiple players can be close to winning at the same time.

Ok, thanks! I will try to be there unless I am extremely sleepy.

Amanda - it sounds like we'll have a small turnout (one confirmed from elsewhere, who may be bringing more, and David makes three "maybes"), which means a quicker game, and you'll see more of it before you go.

It may also happen (again) that someone shows up partway through, and takes over for the person who had to leave early. No big deal, show up anyway, and we'll fake it, one way or another.

I'm hoping to get there about 5:30 to start on setup, so if you can get there early, you can look at the options and I can walk you through a bunch of stuff ahead of time. I'm pretty distinctive - shaved head, epic goatee, and black trench coat with purple lining.

If you have time, you may want to look at the rules for the original Risk, but it's really only the basic idea and a few general mechanics that carry over, so no big deal if you don't get to it. In particular, the section starting on page 8 with Attacking is the most relevant part.

I'd have to leave at 9:15 as well. Would it be better to wait for another event?

I am a newcomer! I might be able to join tomorrow, but I have never played Risk before.

I really want to play, but still have no idea if I'll have the time tomorrow.
