Re: [CoffeeHouseWritersGroup] Seeking a Fiction Writing Partner(s)

Russell,

Thanks for your prompt response.

I totally agree that the motivation for writing must come from within and be persistent; it's not an easy craft.

My current project is a coming of age story for men in their early twenties, set in a gay-oriented BDSM summer camp.  It contains a little graphic sex and some descriptions of elementary BDSM "techniques," but mostly it's about young men trying to find their way in a complex world and being transformed by their summer camp experience.  This may or may not be something you would be interested in reading.  I have no short stories "in progress" at the moment, but inspiration can strike at any time.

Ron

Hi Ron and Others,

Saw your reviews on Amazon, good ones.

I have had a couple of responses that shown me that I was not clear in expressing my need in a writing partner, although you and I, Ron, seem a close match.

My hope was for an active, self-motivated writer of fiction, but not of fantasy nor science fiction, because I do not read that genre and would prove no help. I love to study the art and craft of writing fiction and read the masters of literature, contunued learning is key for me.  I can't help the unmotivated, it comes from within. You have it or not. Perseverance! Has been key for me...

I hope this helps.

Russell

John and Russell,

I live in Claremont -- so close to La Verne that having a valued writing/critique partner is tantalizing.

Here are Amazon reviews of my novel "Operation Capitol Hill" -- self-published in 2006.  I also write short stories and am working on a novel in a completely different genre.

Hi Russell - short answer is, yes, you caught my attention!

Here are some writing samples - although most of it is non-fiction, I've got ideas based on life experiences that are waiting to be explored!

John

P.S. Recently released Kindle ebook - goo.gl/TQkkW

P.P.S. Driving the Birds resonates with me on a free different levels - best discussed in person..

Greeting, Writers.

I am seeking to partner with a kindred fiction writer, or two, who shares similar writing: goals, experience, and needs.

When I lived in Orange County, I had lead nearly 200 writers critique groups, over a period of six years. I eventually learned that it is more valuable, for me, to work with a fellow, dedicated writer, or two, who understands my style and voice and I his or hers, and we share a mutual respect of skills, understanding, and talent.Tall order? Yes. But, I'm working on my fifth novel, having a creative blast, but I need a brainstorming partner for plot, voice, philosophy, and more. Don't need no copy editor to dot my "I"s nor cross "T"s. I love to get into the story of my writing partner, the story that he or she needs to tell, not the story I think that he or she should tell. And I need someone to get their creativity around my story.

Large critique gatherings are invaluable for those who are working on first novels. But, I have written four novels (The first two were practice, the second two are publishable, after I get my break with a best seller) and the memoir of Jabonkah Sackey, DRIVING THE BIRDS--my hope that best seller.

So, have I resonated with anyone out there? I realize that this is a selfish need, but surely there is another like me who writes daily, with passion, goals, and joy.

Feel the call? Email me or call or text me at [masked]. I live in La Verne.

My best wishes for your writing success!

Russell
