Can you now define Cognitive Computing?

Not sure I can, not in an academic sense. I imagine it is looking for ways to make software "smarter" through methods like neural networks or Markov models.

What IT design and development skills do you now have?

15 years employment in Software Engineering. Primarily embedded systems, DSP development, media processing.

Why do you want to become certified in Cognitive Computing?

An opportunity to learn something new. Even if I don't use pursue this exact technology cross pollination of ideas is really important.

Can you and are you willing to teach others in our group?

Maybe. My job's pretty demanding so it's hard to pull together curriculum. Plus I don't know that my knowledge is directly applicable to the subject at hand.

We meet Wednesday, at 7PM in LA, at different venues. Is this convenient for you?

I'm pretty busy so it's as convenient and inconvenient as any other time!

LA based software engineer. Primarily employed in embedded systems and media applications but I find topics like this fascinating.
