This is the classic horror RPG and we'll be playing a fairly traditional Call of Cthulu adventures using 6th Edition. It'll be set in the 1920s or 1930s and I will do my best to capture the feel of the game.

Of course I was scared! On the first night into the game, some 2 burly men coerced me into stealing from a dead man and after scaling over my own roof, I found some other intimidating no-good waiting for my descent. I was so distraught over whom to trust, I resorted to asking for personal advice from Dehok himself! D:

Absolutely scared. Scared that Mrs. Lydia was going to come after me with a carving knife!

I was definitely scared for my character. Mostly scared she'd be killed. Did not anticipate a death penalty trial! That's probably worse than insanity! lol

Glad to hear it! I suspect this was one of those situations were the people involved lose their sanity after the fact…

"Was it all real or did I imagine Mrs. Lydia was possessed by evil when I gunned her down?"

All said I think that was a pretty good Call of Cthulu adventure. Though the real question is - was anyone scared for their characters during the adventure?

Awesome! Had a great time and held on to my sanity :)

Thank you, Karen, it was a great session and I think it was pretty close to a proper Call of Cthulu adventure. I assume some people were at least a little worried for the safety and sanity of their characters. :)

I should be able to give you a ride. Also, is it too late to name my character? I was thinking Maximillian Arturo.

Hey! Would anyone be able to give me a ride back home? I live 15 minutes west, off of Randolph Road. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Sorry, that's totally the opposite direction for me. ;(

Okay working on characters for Friday and hammering out the adventure. If anyone comes up with names, ideas, or have any questions ask away, but all will be explained on Friday so no worries. :)

I'm liking the silent film star idea. Either the professor's niece or granddaughter, depending on how old he was when he died. I see her as in her twenties, pretty, dresses like a flapper. Has had a couple of small roles, but hadn't yet had her big break. Is planning to audition for a big movie role next month. Name is Rosie Bennett. She smokes with an ostentatious, long cigarette holder, has short hair with a curl down her forehead, red hair. Outgoing personality, she's a party girl, enjoying dancing, drinking, and flirtations with powerful men.

I was thinking of a character concept that I'd like to try. A current doctoral student and mentee under the Professor, also possibly a rival and second star to the clergymen student?

Excellent that will work wonderfully as well. I haven't yet decided on the professor's academic field, something classical with a historical bent.

Hi, I was thinking of playing a student in the seminary who is an aspiring clergyman. Maybe he was a favored student of the professor, but the two had a falling out when he left the professor's field of study to pursue a religious vocation.

Perfect! Give some thought to a name but this is an excellent background idea and easy to draw up. :)

We're a week and a half out from the game and I'm diving into designing the adventure. Michelle has a dilettante concept and now I'm going to throw out some ideas for the rest of you to consider: Doctor (either medicine or psychology) who was once an student at Miskatonic University and a favorite of the late professor before going to another university to earn your medical degree. Professor (pick discipline) who is at another university somewhere in the world who was a friend of the late professor from years back. Silent Movie Actor/Actress who is a relation of the last professor and has come to Arkham for the funeral. Your career probably has taken off as of yet. Journalist who was a former student of the professor and has returned for the funeral. You're hoping to find something to write about that can move you up from the dreary assignments you've had so far. Perhaps something else? All I need is for you to pick a career, provide some rough ideas, and a name.

I'm envisioning a woman in her 20s who attended Miskatonic University for a few years before she had to leave before getting her degree in order to take care of her dying mother. After her mother's death, she's become something of a nosy spinster with an interest in seances and the like.

This adventure will begin with you all coming for the funeral of a professor at Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts. This will be occurring in 1928. There will be pregenerated characters but if anyone has a concept for a character you can post it here for me to to try to draw up or if you have 6th Edition Call of Cthulu you can draw the character up yourself. The only requirement I have is that this is the first real exposure to the Cthulu Mythos for the characters. Anyway ask any questions here, but really this should be pretty straightforward to novices and experienced alike. :)
