Design For Sharing

Netflix didn't redesign the DVD, they redesigned the DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM.

Many people are trying to tackle the problem of excess capacity through a matching system that finds a new user for an item that is already "sitting around". Maybe it's too late by then... Maybe products should be designed and produced with sharing in mind in the first place? Maybe the distribution system needs to be fixed. Or maybe it really is the technology and the web behind it all...

Let's have a casual, highly interactive round table with, Jordan Diatlo a freelance industrial designer with some very interesting products under his belt, Cristian Fleming from The Public Society, and Joseph Conti - to talk about all of that:) And how it affects your sharing startup!

Yes we sent an update to everyone who is RSVP'd. Please make sure to update your status if you can- it's been a tough couple of weeks but the guests have confirmed and the venue is giving us space based on attendance :)

Does anyone want their product/platform/solution featured? Do you think you could benefit from design feedback?

Not sure if it's "too late", but certainly design for sharing would facilitate finding a new user and of course, sharing while you still own it. I wonder, though, how design for sharing compares to universal design?
