“ First time joining the group, and I found people to be relaxed and happy to chat "shop". People were very open about what they do for different companies and were more than happy to discuss their experiences in different situations. At the meeting were both "movers and shakers" as well as programmers, representing lots of different parts of the industry. I certainly didn't feel out of place. It was good to learn about other's different experiences when using Ruby - it was great to be sitting beside someone who uses it day in day out and so knows its strengths and weaknesses. Even from this meeting I have come away with some ideas on different ways to organise how we work at my company, as suggested by those I met, even through we don't use Ruby on Rails currently. I see being able to chat to sets of like minded individuals, to get their experiences to better my own knowledge, as vital in my working life. I'm going to recommend that others join! ”
