1. Physics. the meeting of particles or of bodies in which each exerts a force upon the other, causing the exchange of energy or momentum.
2. Social. a serendipitous encounter
Meetup is great for meeting people with similar interests and goals that include making new friends, seeing new places, and trying new things. All of this is done with the guidance and direction of a seasoned organizer who makes sure that you can do these things in an organized and comfortable manner to ensure that you have a good time.
But this group is not your typical Meetup group. In this group you will be required to leave your comfort zone, find your own way, and put some effort into creating your own fun.
Our events don’t always have an organizer. Or a meeting point. Or a detailed description. Some of the time, you’ll have to rely on your common sense, courage, and wisdom to find other members of the group and work with them to figure out the next step.
What’s the point? To create collisions...social encounters that occur by chance and are not artificially created by way of a structured situation, like the traditional Meetup event. When two strangers meet without the comfort of a coordinated group or the assurances of a self-appointed organizer they will do so with more vulnerability and more courageness. Thus, they will meet being more of their true selves, creating a better opportunity for a real connection to be made. Why should you join us? Maybe you shouldn’t. It really depends on what you’re looking for and what you’re willing to do to get it. If you’re able to face your fear, talk to strangers, and find your own way, then you should at least give this group a try. If not, there are plenty of other groups who will be happy to hold your hand and point you in the direction of their choosing. Your life can be lived as an active leader or a passive follower. You decide.
